DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Boston Red Sox created the "Red Sox Sales Academy" (RSSA) in April of 2013 to grow future sports and entertainment sales leaders. To date, over 60 Academy alumni have been promoted either within Fenway Sports Group or around the sports world.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The team is looking for a leader who understands the value of teamwork, and a positive mindset to build upon and grow the successes of the department. The primary focus of the role is to recruit, onboard, Junior Sales Associate and Inside Sales Representative teams, along with the day-to-day management of both groups, to ensure the department reaches its goals. The Manager of the RSSA is a key piece of the new sales leadership team working in collaboration with the Senior Director of Season Ticket Sales, and Manager of Premium Season Ticket Sales.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Recruit, hire, onboard and manage new Inside Sales Representatives, and Junior Sales Associates
  • Administrative duties as assigned, including reporting, pricing sheets and sales collateral
  • Work in partnership with Season Ticket Services, Client Services, Group, Premium Sales, and Business & Analytic departments
  • Assist Senior Director of Academy with sales planning, strategy, and lead generation
  • Create, and implement sales training programs for both ISR and JSA teams
  • Lead the planning and execution of prospecting events such as "Select a Seat"
  • Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times


CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS


  • At least 3 years of proven success in an outbound new business development role ideally in the sports and entertainment space
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Team player with, strong desire to be a sports sales industry leader
  • Experience in customer service
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel are preferred
