Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Manager, Regional OP Outreach serves as a liaison between Ballad Health, the Medical Staff, Affiliates, Referral Physicians, the Community, and other external health care facilities and health professionals. The RM will work closely with other members of business development, outpatient services, marketing, and medical staff services. The individual is responsible for orienting interested individuals as to the benefits of Ballad Health and our services, serving as a public relation representative to affiliate medical staff, rural and community hospitals, and referring health care providers.
The RM is responsible for generating new referrals from in and outside of Ballad Health and recording/analyzing statistical information related to referrals. The RM will be responsible for tracking referrals. A primary responsibility is working closely with physicians and other referral sources to ensure and initiate communication to the referring parties in regards to patient outcome, in a timely, efficient manner. This individual will be responsible for educating referring physicians, their staff or other referring sources on new procedures, PACS, ordering correct procedures, as well as making clear our service lines both inpatient and outpatient provided at each facility. The BDM also develops strategic ideas or proposals that increase referrals with fiscal accountability.
The RM will be part of the Business Development and will be responsible for facilitating discussion and business between Ballad Health representatives, Physicians, referring physicians, and Outpatient Services. These sites will be contacted on a regular and frequent basis. The individual will utilize data provided by Strategic Planning, SSU leaders, facility CEOs, and other team members as necessary to identify target list of highest potential practices and/or clinicians where opportunities for referral growth exist. If there are concerns/issues from any clinicians of a "customer service" nature, the RM is responsible for relaying that information to the hospital department or service director, gathering resolution information, and discussing the issue and resolution with the clinician.
The RM position will require significant time commitment accompanied by significant amounts of travel. Personal characteristics include cooperative, flexible, imaginative, and resourceful. The individual must have good judgment, good problem solving skills, be a team player and work independently in situations of high demand. Courtesy and friendliness to a variety of personalities; consistently demonstrate excellent communication and follow-up skills. The RM will influence the growth of referrals. This individual will want to establish self as a "go-to-person" / trusted advisor for all issues and questions related to regional healthcare, including regulations that effect physicians/clinicians in the area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required - in marketing, communications, sales, business administration or health-related field. Three (3) to five (5) years experience in sales; able to provide demonstration of success.
