JOB DUTIES
Achieve established performance targets by actively engaging disciplines and departments. Appropriately manage people, relationships, and processes in order to maximize results and engage internal/external stakeholders. Promote collaboration, teamwork, and champion service excellence. Interact with users and obtain feedback on training initiatives.
Develop and oversee training initiatives to meet the needs of revenue staff throughout the organization, including training on software, policies, processes, and procedures. Serve as a resource on revenue cycle training/education. Assess and analyze end user and business requirements.

Understand the application of new technologies, design training based on organizational and department goals and strategies, oversee the development and implementation of staff competency tests, and assist monitoring performance.

Assist staff in solving job-related procedural problems and direct the development of paper and electronic training materials to ensure accuracy and quality performance.

Develop strategies for long-range planning of educational needs addressing changes in reimbursement and environment in collaboration with internal and external organizations and departments.

Direct and monitor departmental operations and objectives to ensure effective and high-quality education and training is responsive to department needs. Identify areas for improvement and oversee quality improvement activities.

Interview, select, train, counsel, and evaluate all staff, and monitor trends to ensure sufficient staff to provide appropriate service levels to patients and the organization. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations (organizational, State, and Federal).

Prepare annual budget and monitor revenue/expenditures during the year. Achieve departmental and organizational goals within budget, ensure optimal outcomes for the department, develop and monitor workload standards/staff productivity, and utilize technology to streamline training.

Manage the development, coordination, and maintenance of daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of coverage and continuity of care.

Monitor and oversee time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely approval for payroll purposes.

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of computerized billing systems, personal computers and related equipment.
Comprehensive knowledge of the revenue cycle processes and application, including registration, scheduling, billing, patient health information, financial counseling, and managed care.
High level of coaching and mentoring skills, project management and planning, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree in business, education, finance, healthcare or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Five (5) years of revenue cycle related experience.

Three (3) years of experience developing and conducting training programs.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration, training, or related area.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
