The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for setting the long-term production and inventory plan for all semi-finished and finished goods inventory. This role will collaborate and execute on strategic direction for the supply planning function. A primary responsibility is delivering target service levels while minimizing inventory and supply chain cost. This role works cross functionally across many different departments to ensure production meets optimal inventory positions and capacity is being utilized as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Manager works closely with the mid-term Planning manager to ensure production in the 6 to 13 week horizon is accurate and meets all demand requirements. This role assumes the responsibility of promptly escalating and presenting pertinent issues in the IBP forums around potential risks and opportunities around capacity utilization and necessary decisions to ensure supply continuity. Understanding needed investments and manufacturing adjustments to optimize production to meet demand is critical. This individual will be tasked with facilitating discussions that involve the identification of trade-offs and the provision of assistance in guiding the organization towards making informed business decisions, which may extend beyond the realm of supply planning.

Ways you will make a difference

  • Owning all activities attributed to Supply Planning within the IBP Process (e.g. Supply Review, inputs for Manufacturing Review, Integrated Reconciliation, etc.)
    • Support the evolution of the IBP process, including KPI standardization, deck/content creation, and general dialogue around impacts to future supply plans and service
  • Oversee long-term capacity planning across internal manufacturing and coman/copack suppliers including:
    • Manage development of long-term supply plan to fulfill unconstrained demand plan (e.g. production management across sites, seasonal pre-build requirements)
    • Identify and escalate supply risks and opportunities to leadership and key customers, along with proposed solutions
    • Identify slow-moving inventory to mitigate obsolescence risk
  • Manage weeks of supply inventory targets at the item level for semi-finished and finished goods.
  • Help to set the finished-goods inventory policy for domestic plants, including safety stock, requirements and replenishment strategy (e.g., economic order quantities).
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive the following key supply chain metrics:
    • Service level (i.e., on-time and in-full shipments)
    • Inventory turns
    • Inventory obsolescence
    • Planned order adherence
    • Plant attainment and adherence
  • Develop relationship with plant management and material planning to collaborate on ways of working and triage any production issues
  • Work across all Supply Chain functions and lead the resolution of issues that are surfaced
  • Lead and support business forums such as Integrated Business Planning (ITP), Innovation Launch Readiness (ILR), Limited Time Offerings (LTO) to represent the supply planning function and be key business driver in providing risk mitigation and service evaluation.
  • Lead and execute root cause analysis and evaluation of service of our products to our customers
    • Analytical analysis of what caused the service impact
    • Recommendation of preventative actions to prevent further impact
    • Evaluation of forward-looking risk to service in the future
    • Risk mitigation related to all service impact & process creation to maintain high levels of service


Skills that will make you successful

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with SAP software (any of: ECC, S4 HANA, APO, SAP IBP)


Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Planning or adjacent field within Supply Chain
  • Strong understanding of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
  • Previous experience working with Business Warehouse/Business Intelligence systems preferred
