Summary of Position

Provide technical supervision and support in all areas related to facilities and events operated by the UNH Department of Theatre and Dance, with emphasis on providing training to ensure crowd safety and safe working practices. Supervise in-house theatre staff for front of house and back stage operations. Coordinate the use of theatre facilities for both University and external entities.

Provide technical supervision and support in all areas related to theatre facilities, including lighting, audio, video and rigging. Provide supervision of front of house operations. Co-ordinate maintenance and inspections for performing arts facilities to ensure systems are functioning properly and safety is maintained; participate in annual rigging inspection. Keep specialized theatrical equipment maintained.

Duty/Responsibility

Manage all public events in facilities operated by the Department of Theatre and Dance, including departmental and non-departmental events, with decision-making authority. Focus on providing for crowd safety and ensuring safe working practices of technical crews, both internal and external.

Duty/Responsibility

Liaise with producers of and supervise in-house work of non-departmental users of theatre spaces to ensure compliance with relevant safety codes as well as departmental and university policies.

Duty/Responsibility

Hire/select, train and supervise in-house theatre staff for front of house operations consisting of house managers and ushers; and back stage operations consisting of technical crews. Provide training or certify experience and assign duties of staff and crew members.

Duty/Responsibility

Co-ordinate the use of theatre facilities operated by the Theatre and Dance Department with the Music Department, Celebrity Series, Traditional Jazz Series, other UNH colleges and departments, as well as non- UNH entities. Serve as one of three members of the committee charged with scheduling all activities and events in the Johnson and Hennessy Theatres.
