The Managing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company strategy, leading business development and outreach, overseeing all of the functions of the business, and maintaining close proximity to our clients, their families, our caregivers, care managers, well-being activity coordinators, and our service and referral partners.

The ideal Managing Director candidate is a values-based leader with proven experience working in the home care and aging life care-related industries in Santa Cruz County, driving strategy development and leading its execution, managing a diverse team, building new partnership and growing existing ones, and growing individually alongside the company's growth. This role will be part of the Lifespan Ventures senior leadership team, alongside our Lifespan Care COO and Lifespan Ventures Managing Member.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform general management of Lifespan (Santa Cruz location)
  • Lead the team in planning and implementation of strategies and tactics required to fulfill company objectives, in particular sales and earnings growth
  • Creates and implements business development and marketing plans
  • Prepares and manages annual budgets and revenue and earnings targets and assumes P&L responsibility for Lifespan
  • Supports the development and implementation of a staff development program
  • Receives and supports client service inquiries
  • Supervises Lead Care Manager, Staffing Manager, Human Resources, Office Manager, and Accounting Lead
  • Serves as a resource on aging life care issues throughout the community and represents Lifespan on community boards as requested


Job Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Cleared background checks through the Department of Justice and the Federal Government
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the business management of health, social, or aging-related services is preferred, along with substantive knowledge of current trends in home care, federal and state regulations, state licensing requirements, and other standards related to home care and aging care management.
