Leidos Dynetics, is seeking an entry level Manufacturing Engineer to join a diverse team in Huntsville, AL to create unique solutions for complex problems.

The Manufacturing Engineer will be supporting the Hypersonic Glide Body Program. This role will be tasked with continuous improvement initiatives across the machining and assembly areas of the Mechanical Manufacturing group. They will also be responsible for manufacturing engineering functions such as MES support, MBOM management in MES and ERP systems, process development, participating in RCCA investigations, and general engineering support.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with other manufacturing engineers, NC programmers, and machinists to develop process improvements.
• Assist in developing manufacturing and assembly fixturing and tooling.
• Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
• Work with quality engineering and manufacturing groups to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
• Work with CNC programmers and machinists to develop manufacturing processes, including detailed work instructions, manufacturing sketches/drawings and other shop floor documentation.
• Analyze engineering drawings and required specifications to develop process flow to meet requirements.
• Work with manufacturing engineering and machinists to develop manufacturing processes, including detailed work instructions, manufacturing sketches/drawings and other shop floor documentation.
• Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
• Create and maintain manufacturing BOMs in ERP and MES systems.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems using a data driven approach.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering with prior experience a plus.
• Candidate will be required to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Candidate must be capable of performing and communicating in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Candidate must have experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville or north Alabama area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:

• Solidworks
• 3 & 5 Axis CNC Machining
• Parametric Programming
• C++/Python Programming
• Lean manufacturing principles and applications

Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
