What You Will Do
Apply abilities in problem solving, technical knowledge, and project coordination to make a true impact in an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will learn and work with our team of full-time Manufacturing Engineers, Operations Managers, and operational support staff to drive changes in manufacturing processes with large focus on cost-reductions and labor-efficiency gains. Interact daily with a manufacturing production line with the overarching goal of identifying productivity and process improvement opportunities via build, test, and inspect steps.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify, record, and execute productivity and process improvement opportunities
  • Prioritize workload of production sustainment to execute productivity/process improvement projects in an organized manner
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in maintaining documented work instructions, operational throughput and equipment usage, and operational sequences
  • Organize and lead related activities and projects associated with process improvements initiatives
  • Assist quality and manufacturing engineers with disposition of discrepant parts
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of production processes, drawing requirements, standard work instructions, quality standards, test procedures, and assembly instructions
  • Perform duties as assigned by specific business unit initiatives.

Education
College degree or in process of a degree

Experience
No experience required, relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office.
  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional indoor, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • The office is an open concept with groupings of desks.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, sometimes hearing office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and peers communicating.
  • Within a short walking distance employees will have access to office supplies necessary to complete job.
  • Employees will have access to majority of building including production area.
Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $23.00 to $26.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
