Description

Vitalant is currently seeking a Manufacturing Software Specialist to be responsible for being the expert and primary resource with a focus on Manufacturing/Distribution for eProgesa and HWBO applications. This position provides project management for the evaluation, development and implementation of manufacturing software updates, software implementation activities and software change control processes.

This position can be located remotely from an at-home office anywhere in the United States

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides input to management for strategic planning in order to meet changes in technology and services.
  • Manages projects across multiple operating units. This includes initial evaluation, cost benefit analysis/financial impact, resources management, implementation and outcome review for short and long-term software projects.
  • Develops programs for center activities in the areas of software implementations, validations, training, computer support and technical expertise. As directed, monitors on-site evaluations and testing.
  • Provides technical support for by visiting centers to analyze practices and utilization of software applications. Acts as a technical software resource and liaison for BSI Functional Councils, Central Office and vendors.
  • Researches, recommends and evaluates new software applications and configurations for BSI and vendors.
  • Ensures quality systems comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory, industry, and BSI standards. Assists in the development, review and approval of responses to internal and external citations that impacts manufacturing software applications.
  • Responsible for managing the software development lifecycle for manufacturing supported software applications to include software change requests, testing, and defect review and resolution.
  • Knowledgeable of software testing tools and test automation to allow for streamlined development of tests, test plans and test execution.
  • Primary point of contact for developing requirements for internal and external software applications facilitating review with field and central office leadership. Configures production software parameters.
  • Evaluates changes and provides troubleshooting for vendor software. Determines requirements, creates and executes appropriate test plans.
  • Remains abreast of changes and developments provided in vendor software. Evaluates changes and provides troubleshooting documentation. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation.


Requirements

Knowledge/Education

Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Advanced degree preferred.

Current understanding of federal and AABB standards governing blood industry manufacturing activities preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Quality Center and automated testing application certification preferred.

Experience

Five years related experience required.
