Summary: Under supervision, assist in a variety of electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, replacement and/or component repair of various non-power generation/distribution equipment across various U.S. Naval ship classes. This position will have an emphasis on Ridged-Hull Inflatable Boats and a variety of small Naval Vessels.

The pay range for this is $24.22 to $35.35 per hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspects and tests electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs basic electrical circuits across various equipment types
- Installs new fuses, electrical cables, terminal boxes, switches, lighting or power sources as required and locate and remove or repair circuit defects such as blown fuses.
- Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective wiring and relays and/or safety switches and interlocks.
- Utilizes manufacturers' technical manuals, schematics and specifications to ensure conformance to shipboard requirements.
- Installs and connects wiring via control panels, and junction boxes.
- Reassembles and tests circuits/equipment subsequent to repairs
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years' experience as a Navy electrician (EM), Naval Shipyard Electrician.
- Minimum of one-year experience as a Navy electrician (EM), assisting and having a Basic knowledge of Ridged-Hull Inflatable Boats.
- Basic knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in the electrical trade.
- Basic knowledge in electrical theory
- Must have a basic command of the English language in order to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments
- Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.

- Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise.
- Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (on board ships).
- Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects.
- Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Able to perceive and distinguish normal range of colors.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
