POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Marketing Communications Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing comprehensive marketing strategies at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Drawing upon a deep understanding of the aviation industry, this individual will oversee brand management, ensuring a consistent and compelling image. Proficient in various media channels, the consultant will plan and execute impactful marketing campaigns, from digital initiatives to traditional advertising. Event management skills will come into play for organizing airline launches and engaging passenger activities. A key aspect of the role involves effective budget management, collaborating with internal teams, airlines, and vendors.

Digital marketing expertise and creative thinking will be harnessed to enhance the airport online presence. Additionally, the consultant will be prepared to handle crises, ensuring effective communication strategies.

Top candidate will be subject to a minimum 10 year criminal background check and security threat assessment.

Must have the ability to read, write, and fluently speak in English.

WORK HOURS :

Shift may change according to departmental needs. Work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekend work

ON- CALL / CALL BACK RESPONSIBILITIES :

Position may require on-call or call back responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a digital communications and/or creative services professional.
  • Experience leading a creative process with clients, subject matter experts, content creators and graphic designers.
  • Experience developing and executing behavior change marketing campaigns that include paid and owned media.
  • Experience collaborating with a digital communications or creative services team.
  • Experience in managing social media channels
  • Experience in event planning
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Meets with product and service managers, provides input into appropriate advertising and promotional themes and materials, and assures quality development and production of these ideas
  • Provides insight and guidance to strategies and materials that launch images, brands, and products/services
  • Creates and delivers critical sales and advertising messages to various constituencies in response to competition in a deregulated marketplace
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with contracting agencies that supply support to Austin Energy accounts
  • Provides marketing communication input into market segmentation and product planning
  • Assists in developing advertising and promotion budgets

    Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    • Knowledge of project management, database and spreadsheet software
    • Knowledge of marketing and sales support, product development, and brand development requirements
    • Knowledge of graphics and copy quality development
    • Skill in product and service development and launch
    • Skill in copywriting and editing for various media
    • Skill in program development, direct marketing, trade-shows, collateral production and management
    • Ability to develop and maintain corporate image and professional relationships
    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
    • Ability to understand competitive challenges facing a monopoly in transition
