Job Summary:

The Health Marketing & Communications Coordinator for The University of Texas at Tyler will play an integral role in enhancing and promoting the mission and brand of the university through the development of internal and external marketing communications, social media, and project management. They will also be responsible for providing professional communications, administrative and clerical support to the office of marketing and communications, supporting the health affairs division of the University. The position will collaborate with university department leads and UT Tyler social media and web liaisons to build an online social media and web presence that supports health-related programs/areas, including those of the: UT Tyler School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Fisch College of Pharmacy and School of Health Professions.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
• Provide social media support as necessary to execute in alignment with overarching UT Tyler brand promotion for health affairs.
• Provide administrative support and office management for the Executive Director of University Marketing and health affairs marketing and communications team.
• Conceives, develops, and coordinates a broad range of internal and external communications for multiple audiences through writing and editing, communications strategy.
• Process departmental requisitions, maintaining an accurate log of all expenditures to assist in monthly reconciliation.
• Collaborate with UT Tyler main campus colleagues on requisitions, reconciliations, charge backs and other purchasing/contract-related activities.
• Approve all departmental electronic payments, travel and other documents as authorized by leadership.
• Timely preparation and completion of cost center reconciliations monthly by the stated due date.
• Develops and writes engaging content for health-related website pages and social media accounts.
• Assists as the liaison between internal creative team and contracted digital graphic designers, photographers, and digital developers in the production of assigned projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Proficient with AP Style and possess strong proofreading skills.

Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively across the academic environment and health system.

Must possess strong organizational skills including setting, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.

Two (2) years' experience in a related field.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Superior communication, creative writing, and editing skills are required.

May accept a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education / Experience:

Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.

Experience in an academic medical center/health-related role is preferred.

Photography and video skills preferred.

Project management software experience preferred.

Social media management experience preferred.
