Job Summary

This position falls under a hybrid work schedule with 2 days per week on campus / 3 days remote.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor's degree and six years experience in marketing, communications, or advertising. At least two of these years must be specialized in marketing communications in a corporation or agency.

May also consider a Master's Degree and four years of experience in marketing, communications, or advertising.

Job Duties
  • Plan, develop, and manage both brand marketing and direct response marketing strategies and tactics that enhance the footprint in the regional market and beyond to achieve established goals.
  • Responsible for the establishment and oversight of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that marketing and advertising dollars are being allocated effectively, that operations are efficient, assets are safeguarded, and financial and volume growth information is reliable.
  • Direct the development of programmatic promotional materials as needed by clinical services, targeting both consumers and referring physicians.
  • Working closely with UTSW Digital, Creative, and Web Services, ensure consistent brand articulation across all channels and media. Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications/public relations function.
  • Assume secondary responsibility for the development and support of digital and social media marketing strategies that support volume growth, in conjunction with the web team and the marketing team's editorial staff.
  • Negotiate with and manage the work of outside vendors as appropriate.
  • Work with leadership to regularly conduct relevant market research; coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain awareness of the local and regional competitive landscape and of key national market segments and trends. Proactively leverage Medical Center research and other existing sources of information to generate innovative marketing initiatives that distinguish the institution from its competitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
