Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

The Marketing Manager, Outpatient Markets role within US Clinical Outpatient Marketing team will be managing outpatient market segments to drive increased brand awareness, favorability, and revenue of bioMérieux's outpatient molecular testing products. The products to be managed include the BioFire line of bioMérieux products.

The Marketing Manager will report directly to the Associate Director of Clinical Marketing, Outpatient Markets, and will work closely to become a market expert for the important segments of the outpatient market.. The Marketing Manager will develop a clear understanding of market drivers, competitors, and customer personas. The Marketing Manager will work alongside another outpatient marketing managers to align US outpatient market strategies across various market segments.

The Marketing Manager, Outpatient Markets will play a lead role in the development of marketing strategies, objectives, and tactics; and holds primary responsibility for tactical execution in support of marketing objectives. This position requires collaboration and engagement with key cross-functional departments in bioMérieux, including sales, global, customer service organization, compliance, legal, marketing communications, and marketing insights. This position will also require ownership of tactics from inception to launch, that are time-bound and metric driven.

The Marketing Manager, Outpatient Markets position will be responsible for overseeing the successful growth, through tactical execution, of market adoption of bioMérieux's molecular outpatient portfolio. This position will require engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the industry, and being the point of contact with KOLs, as well as developing programs with KOLs to drive thought leadership within the industry.

The Marketing Manager, Outpatient Markets position is a hybrid position that will require up to 30% of travel, including trade show support, customer visits, and internal meetings.

  • Clinical data gaps

Interfaces works closely with and/or Manages:
  • Customers
  • Sales force & field employees
  • Internal R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Quality personnel
  • KOLs
  • Advertising agency
  • 3rd party vendors
  • Company executive management


Training and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or business-related field; MBA preferred
  • At least 3 years of successful product/market management (in an associate product manager or product manager positions) experience preferably with diagnostic or medical products, or other relevant experience
  • Experience working with SaaS products and services preferred


Experience:
  • Working knowledge of marketing regulated clinical diagnostics in the field of infectious disease.
  • Performs work under supervision, and can work independently.
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers some complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Interacts and presents technical information to audience with various levels of scientific experience.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word and Excel, and contact management databases.
  • Fluent in English.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, or virology clinical laboratory techniques is highly desired, but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of or lab experience is preferred, but not required.
