The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) is recruiting for a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Marketing Specialist position to work as part of the team at the award-winning Wisconsin Veterans Museum (WVM), sharing the stories of our state's military veterans and their history-shaping exploits. The position is headquartered in the heart of Madison, close to the Capitol and State Street.

Position Summary

This position implements the museum marketing plan for the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. Responsibilities include: assisting with digital communications to include social media content creation, email newsletter creation, and posting digital advertising, assisting with print newsletter production, and assisting with museum website content maintenance.

Salary Information

The pay for this Marketing Specialist LTE position is $20.24 per hour. This job does not offer employee benefits.

This position is in pay schedule and range 07-04.

This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.

Job Details

This position will work on a part-time basis up to 20 hours a week.

This position may require the ability to work nights or weekends for special events, as needed.

LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.

Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have training and/or experience with:
  • Content creation for social media and marketing materials (newsletters, website updates, managing social media postings, etc.); and
  • Computer skills and digital content creation tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
Well qualified candidates will also have training and/or experience with:
  • Conducting outreach with organizations (museums, cultural organizations, school districts, veterans groups, etc.)
Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments. The definition of Wisconsin residency for LTE employment can be found here .
