Position Summary

Responsible for providing all types of massage and body treatments offered at the Sandia Casino Hotel Resort Spa. All treatments must be done in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Spa Manager and the Spa Supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide massage and body treatments to guests using professional accepted techniques-upgrading any treatments when possible as outlined in the SOP.
  2. Assess guest needs and inquire about any health issues (contraindications) before beginning service.
  3. Set up treatment room with necessary equipment and supplies to ensure guest comfort and safety throughout service as outlined in the provider checklist.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of treatment room throughout shift-stocking room at end of shift with linens, towels, etc. as outlined in the provider checklist.
  5. Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional as outlined in the SOP.
  6. Follow all company policies and procedures maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information as outlined in the SOP.
  7. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
  8. Must be knowledgeable of daily "stand-ups" and actively participate in daily goals.
  9. Must participate in computer based learning and implement these skills into the workplace.

  3. Knowledge of various massages and therapies.
  4. Knowledge of rubbing compounds and oils used in massages.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:
  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  2. The following license and/or certifications are required prior to employment start date:
    1. State of New Mexico Massage Therapist License.
  3. Two (2) years massage therapist experience.
  4. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Licensing Status
  1. Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions
  1. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outside work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  4. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  5. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  6. Specific required movements include the following:
    1. Trunk- bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry.
    2. Arms - reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate.
    3. Legs - lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate.
    4. Hands - Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity.
