Job Duties

This position is located at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.

Position supports long lasting public safety using care coordination for substance use disorders within the population under the care of the Virginia Department of Corrections, to include individuals incarcerated and on community supervision. This approach will involve collaboration with state, local, and community agencies.

The MAT Social Worker serves as the primary point of contact for all inmates in the
Medication Assisted Treatment program, taking medications for opioid use disorder at FCCW.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs/Applications. Considerable experience in counseling, or social work in a corrections or human services setting. Considerable demonstrated professional experience in the field of corrections, social work, or public administration. Working knowledge/experience with local/regional community resources for substance a recovery and reentry stabilization; of the effects of substance use disorder and substance use disorder treatment programs and prevention methods and techniques; evidence based and best practice for identification and treatment of substance use disorder; the basic community resources and organizations; Some knowledge of public health program policy planning.

Additional Considerations

Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). License eligible Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), licensed CSAC, or any additional SUD credential i.e. CADC, CAADC. Prefer advanced training in SUD screening methods i.e. experience with ASI, ASAM, SASSI, etc.
