Position Overview: We are seeking a Material Area Supervisor to lead hourly teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering materials to support production in an automotive manufacturing assembly plant. The ideal candidate will drive safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale initiatives, transforming material delivery processes to boost productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of hourly work teams.
  • Develop team leaders in line with corporate guidelines, enhancing material delivery processes to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs using the World Class Manufacturing process.
  • Ensure inventory and record integrity while maintaining a positive working relationship with both management and union-represented employees.
  • Manage multiple work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate daily team activities to achieve business metrics and implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and processes related to material flow.
  • Oversee and develop highly functioning work teams, comprised of Team Leaders and Team Members, practicing Leadership Principles.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment/machinery.
  • Strong math skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Better than average understanding of Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well with a team while also working independently.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great team player, hard worker, self-starter with good work ethic.
  • Must be open to any shift.
  • 100% onsite.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in the automotive industry within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a logistics warehouse environment.
  • Previous management experience.
