Division: Columbus McKinnon Corporation

Location: Chattanooga, TN Weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday with potential overtime hours on Wednesdays or Thursdays

Role Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining and accurately reporting the flow of material at both plants including Work-in-Process, Semi-finished Goods and Finished Goods. The employee transfers empty material handling containers to departmental staging areas and services the material handling needs of the production employees at their assigned plant.

Key Accountabilities:

• Using dead weights, check scale accuracy every morning.
• Weigh, tag and record inventory transactions for all production, warehouse and outside processing functions.
• Record inventory movements in CMBIS modules to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Locate store items in proper rack locations.
• Maintain required paperwork.
• Must be able to perform the TPM required for all equipment used in this position.
• Maintain a clean orderly and safe working area.
• Inspect forklift daily
• Perform other duties as required or requested.

Competencies:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as Work Instructions, Manufacturing Prints, ABC prints, work-order packets and Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMR's). Must be able to verbally communicate with other employees, lead persons and supervisors.

Success Measures

Ability to review production schedule reports to identify and label product during the -weigh-counting operation. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to operate weigh-counting scales.

Qualifications:

High school graduate, GED, or equivalent. Employee will be required to complete training in the operation of the weigh counting scales. Must have and maintain a valid forklift license. Knowledge of Kanban cards, pull systems, and computer data entry is required.

Special Position Requirements:

The employee is subject to an environment that is at time congested with product boxes, material, etc. The employee is exposed to the hazard of mobile equipment moving in close areas. High noise levels are present in most areas the employee works.

Work Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time while driving. Must be able to climb on and off a sit-down fork lift. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. Extensive use of the hands, arms, legs and feet are required to operate forklift. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Must be able to use weigh counting scales, calculator, and computer. Must be able to operate fork lifts.
