Skills Required

The knowledge and ability to interpret drawings, technical manuals, and work specifications to develop material estimates for repairs on US Navy and Commercial ships Develop material estimates for new/growth work resulting from inspection reports, deficiency reports, and contract changes.

The ability to deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.

Identify and select vendors to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery dates.

Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time

Develop and implement processes and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives

Support assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with members of the purchasing team

Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met

Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance in conjunction with members of the purchasing team




Experience Required

3 years and above
