Position: Material Services Assistant Manager - 2nd shift
Reports To: Material Services Section Manager
Direct reports: PPG, CPG and Material Service
Qualifications: Good understanding of all Purchasing practices and procedures. Must conform with all federal and state requirements. Good written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. Previous supervision experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine responsibilities for the Purchasing and Material Service department.
  • Ensure product or parts are ordered in a timely manner and terms and conditions are best industry practices.
  • Establish procurement procedures and communicate the procedures to all personnel.
  • Create forecasting models for raw materials and supplies.
  • Negotiate contracts, when applicable, with key suppliers and review contract terms and conditions.
  • Facilitate vendor contracts, invoices and performance for capital improvement projects and facility vendors.
  • Establish long term forecasts for import parts.
  • Set up vendor practices to utilize JIT manufacturing principles.
  • Execute daily purchase order and invoice processing consistent with established procedures to ensure timely and accurate responses to external and internal customers.
  • Establish perpetual inventory practices to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of inventory values.
  • Support development of 5S, TPM and Kaizen programs.
  • Ensure safe operations.
  • Have the ability to establish and execute a monthly plan.
  • Will ensure daily control items align with the company business plan and key objectives/metrics.
  • Administer performance reviews.
  • Will attend Management Review/ISO meetings.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the China Compulsory certification (CCC) system.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of purchasing terms, principles and processes.
