SUMMARY:

Responsible for the receiving, storing, maintaining, distributing, shipping, charging, and inventorying supplies and equipment for the organization. Identifies any damages to supplies/equipment and takes the appropriate steps to correct the situation. Provides receiving and distribution for all departments, patients, and physicians within the organization. Carries out all directives issued by the Director of Supply Chain Services and/or Distribution Manager on a consistent basis to properly manage the needs of the health system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Makes sure supplies are rotated so they are first in, first out.
* Ensures supplies are kept eighteen (18) inches below sprinkler system.
* Assist with yearly inventory.
* Verifies product codes of items received, match packing slip and purchase order and takes appropriate measures to correct any discrepancies.
* Carries out STAT orders immediately and completes all tasks in a timely manner.
* Maintains appropriate daily inventory levels of supplies and equipment within the work area and all other Supply Chain managed supply rooms of the organization.
* Cleans equipment returned from the floors in a timely manner and maintains the appropriate paper work.
* Ensures deliveries of supplies/equipment are made to proper requesting department.
* Fills supply requisitions to requesting departments on the specified day.
* Informs Distribution Manager of any items in the storeroom that are out or backordered.
* Takes appropriate steps to correct the problems of low stock levels, obsolete stock, damaged items, or returns from requesting departments.
* Ensure proper daily issuing and charging of the supplies.
* Reviews key performance reports and creates action plans to resolve any indicators that are out of line with the benchmarked performance standards.
* Works with purchasing and supplier on coordinating returned items and properly setting up the returns in the MMIS.
* Works with purchasing and AP on resolving receiving discrepancies.
* Responds promptly to all requests or inquiries from requesting departments made through email, phone, or the MMIS.
* Reviews open returns and takes appropriate action to close them.
* Works with purchasing and suppliers on shipping discrepancies.
* Cleans and replenishes emergency carts in a timely manner.
* Checks expiration dates and takes appropriate action prior to the designated day each month.
* Makes sure all assigned aisles are stocked and supplies are on the shelf in the correct issue unit of measure.
* Makes sure all overstock is checked and placed on the correct row, bin, and shelf daily.
* Makes sure all items are stored appropriately and off the floor.
* Makes sure the storeroom, assigned aisles, and all other assigned areas are kept clean and organized.
* Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
* Understands and adheres to compliance standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflicts of Interest Policy.
* Demonstrates age-specific skills as required by position.
* Offers suggestions on ways to improve operations of department and reduce costs.
* Attends all mandatory education programs.
* Improves self-knowledge through voluntarily attending continuing education/certification classes.
* Maintains required competency levels as identified in written exams, skills checklists, skills labs, annual safety and health requirements as well as service excellence education hours requirements.
* Willing to cross-train in order to better assist co-workers and to provide maximum efficiency in department.
* Volunteers/participates on hospital committees, functions, and department projects.
* Manages resources effectively.
* Reports equipment in need of repair in order to extend life of equipment.
* Makes good use of time so as to not create needless overtime.

EDUCATION:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent

*GED

OTHER INFORMATION:

Knowledge of product and inventory is preferred.
