The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. Minimum Qualifications

Requires are least a high school diploma or equivalent. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary

Performs manual and clerical duties related to receiving, inspecting, and stocking: Receives shipments and checks for accuracy against purchase orders; Stocks inventory shelves by the appropriate hospital inventory numbers; Pulls inventory for various departments within the teaching hospital; Assist in the ordering, receiving, distributing and taking inventory of compressed gases for the hospital.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Basic computer and arithmetic skills.
  • Skills in operating automotive, materials handling, and office equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, observant, and safety conscious.


Physical Demands

1. Lift, and carry up to 75 pounds.
2. Sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces.
3. Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery.
4. Work for long periods of time with arms extended.
5. Driving to perform job related duties.
