The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the MGBMG Urgent Care Director of Operations, the Materials Supervisor will support Urgent Care supply and medical equipment for 18+ UC locations in MA and NH! This Supervisor role will be highly collaborative with the Corporate Administration team and will be accountable to the MGBMG Manager of Materials Management.

This role is critical to the success of MGBMG Urgent Care! The Materials Supervisor actively supports the day-to-day operations of the Urgent Care locations, focusing on a comprehensive materials management program, customer service, vendor management, and staff support/management in the areas of supplies, equipment, safety, and cleanliness. They will work directly with the MGBMG Materials Management department to continually analyze current operations related to materials management and make recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with senior management, assists with the development and maintenance of the operation budgets for areas of responsibility. Assures compliance with budgets and targets in all areas related to materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Inventory management including cycle counts and establishing par levels.
  • Develops and maintains departmental standard work as well as policies and procedures (P&P) for areas of responsibility.
  • Accountable for leadership, training, and professional mentoring of personnel. This includes implementing and monitoring for 5s and Lean approaches.
  • Responsible for effective training programs to meet and ensure all regulatory agency requirements are met.
  • Develops and monitors effectiveness and routine statistics for all areas of control.
  • Recommends appropriate changes within areas of responsibility to maintain and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with other key departments such as Finance Operations, including supply chain, and MGB MG MM to maintain and improve the integrity of the supply process at all MGB MG Urgent Care locations.
  • Support Value analysis Team for the MG in the areas of product standardization
  • Works collaboratively with the purchasing dept to resolve issues.
  • Performs all other duties as requested.


Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of new procedures; creates training documents as needed; tracks training presented.
  • Provides orientation and training of all employees in standard work and policies and procedures related to all materials management.
  • Monitors each locations alignment with budgets and materials management procedures to ensure established performance standards are being met.
  • Handles all vendor relationship issues; educates staff member(s) on performance issues to avoid any repeated incidents related to supplies and equipment.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to create redundancy in supply chain for times of supply shortages -including a centralized collaborative relationship through the organization's supply team (for bigger issues) and local function (for smaller issues) on backorder management and vendor management.
  • Collaborates with other Urgent Care leaders and staff on planning, logistics, and continuity of supply and supply flow.


Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Post Secondary Education or Bachelor's degree preferred.


Experience

  • 2 years of experience with materials/supply management. Urgent Care specific experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of materials management workflows.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Requires excellent interpersonal, influential, and organizational skills.
  • Functions independently within a broad scope of established hospital and departmental policies and goals.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills necessary. Daily contact with all levels of personnel within the organization as well as numerous contacts outside.
  • Excellent computer skills are essential as well as the ability to read and interpret computer reports. Skills in preparing business plans and presentations are also needed. General skills as general acquired through Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. PeopleSoft knowledge is preferred.
  • Requires analytical skills necessary to make sound judgements based on data analysis.
  • A strong commitment to provide superior service which assures quality and user satisfaction.
  • In-depth knowledge of Materials Management purchasing, contracting, vendor relationships, and product knowledge and logistics a must.
