Shift : Day (This position requires weekend Shifts)

The role you'll contribute:

Under general supervision, the Mechanic-Preventative Maintenance troubleshoots and repairs laundry equipment and components maintaining the laundry operating at full capacity. Performs repairs to multiple systems and components including electrical and electronic, motors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, steam and hot oil systems. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Performs preventative maintenance with a proactive approach to ensure a minimal amount of down time.

• Repairs equipment in a timely manner when it breaks and with quality repair work that will ensure that the equipment will continue to operate per manufacturer specifications.

• Performs all scheduled maintenance on a timely basis as required per manufacturer recommendations and laundry department policies.

• Follows all regulatory guidelines and safety procedures related to assigned tasks.

• Ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition.

• Performs minor building and truck repairs.

• Uses inventory management system effectively to track and input repairs made.

• Follows all hospital best practice, standards, policies, procedures and work instructions.

• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

• Able to communicate in English

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED :
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of general plumbing, and industrial electricity to 480 volts
  • Understanding of pneumatic and high-pressure steam systems, and basic mechanical fundamentals


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Experience with factory-type manufacturing or processing equipment and systems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :
  • Any factory or military service school education
  • Experience working in an ISO-9001 environment
