What you'll do:
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to understand design requirements.
Support the manufacturing team in designing mechanical systems such as jigs, fixtures, automated systems etc.
Create detailed mechanical designs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Develop and document design specifications and 2D drawings.
Apply GD&T and perform tolerance stack-up analysis
Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles
Work with vendors to get the components and subsystems developed per design
