Summary:

The Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic will have complete involvement in routine or emergency maintenance as well as corrective, preventive, predictive maintenance and basic care for all mechanical equipment and its related components. The Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic is expected to have basic electrical knowledge, i.e. the ability to swap out like for like replacement of motors.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on a scheduled basis; Inspects belts, gearboxes, chains, bearings, etc.
  • Troubleshooting of low voltage circuits, analog devices, VFDs, and motor control circuitry to obtain a root cause of failures.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and devices to determine faults and failures.
  • Regular repair and maintenance are required in non-production areas including the warehouse, design lab, building, and grounds.
  • Uses CMMS system for work order implementation, recordkeeping of daily activities, and planned projects.


Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • An operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial / electronic controls and power transmission systems.
  • A good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • PLC trouble shooting is a plus.
  • Ability to problem-solve mechanical (electrical systems a plus).
  • Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a mature and respectful professional manner.
  • Ability to work various shifts / overtime / days per week.

The starting rate for this position is $29.79 - $34.04, depending on your role, level and location. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience and education.
