Position Summary:

The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a global and very dynamic team of dedicated professionals. Program Components:
  • Individual Career Development Plans;
  • Formalized Career Discussion to give participants input into their development plan;
  • Career development/assignment review every 6 months by the Cross Functional Executive Design Engineering Development Team;

  • Hands on exposure to multiple internal departments and projects;
  • Domestic and international training assignments;

  • While career development is an ongoing process at Hitachi Astemo, graduates will normally participate in this program for about 3 years, with assignment to a specific Business Unit within 1-2 years.


Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities;
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating several small or one major project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently while provided proper direction.
  • Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools


Experience with the following is desired, (not required)
  • CAD software (i.e. CATIA V5, Solidworks preferred)
  • CAE- FEA/CFD (Ansys-fluent, Abaqus, Solidworks-FEA etc.)
  • Math software - Matlab/Simulink,
  • Programming Language - Visual Basic, C++
  • Statistical software - ie. Minitab
  • Formula SAE or Experience with shocks, struts, automotive suspension components
  • Have experience tracking and reporting design changes.
  • Experience interfacing with customers is a plus.


Education: Bachelor's degree in related engineering field required (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)

Experience Requirements: 0-3 years related experience. Previous related internships or co-ops a plus.

Working conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.

Work Environment: Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and periodic exposure to manufacturing environments.
