Mechanical/HVAC Cost Analyst

Position: Mechanical-HVAC Cost Analyst/Sheet Metal Estimator

Location: Oak Creek, WI

Job Description:

The Grunau Company is looking for a Mechanical-HVAC Cost Analyst/Sheet Metal Estimator to work full-time in our Oak Creek office.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
• Conduct accurate takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
• Analyze project costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and profit margins, to develop comprehensive and competitive project bids.
• Prepare detailed and timely bid proposals, ensuring all relevant information is included and aligned with project specifications.
• Work closely with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project requirements.
• Present and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and external clients as needed.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor pricing to maintaining a competitive edge.
• Monitor actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying areas of improvement and lessons learned for future projects.
• Attend job walk-throughs as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5+ years of relevant shop/field fabrication and install experience or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Bluebeam and AutoCad
• Open cube office work environment, noise level - quiet to moderate

Pay Range: Pay dependent upon level of experience and education
