LACONIA WATER DEPARTMENT

MECHANIC/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

The Laconia Water Department has an immediate opening for a mechanic/equipment operator. The Mechanic/Equipment Operator performs various tasks including operating equipment, small engine and vehicle maintenance/repairs, relaying water mains, inspections of meters and water services and other tasks as assigned. This is a permanent full-time position with benefits.

The successful candidate will be:

• Skilled in small engine and vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance/repair
• Physically fit, able to perform manual work relaying water mains, changing water meters
• In possession of a valid NH grade B CDL License with a safe driving record or ability to obtain within one year. Laconia Water will pay for CDL training and license, provided employee retains employment at Laconia Water for 3 years
• In possession of a State of NH Grade I Distribution License or able to obtain one within one year
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Within a 30 minute commute to Laconia Water Department
• On call for service calls and emergencies
• Laconia Water will provide training and courses to employee to obtain all licensing and on-the-job knowledge.

The salary range is $24.25 to $30.44 per hour. There is a full benefit package. References will be required.
