Responsibilities:
  • Check schedules and organize patient flow, ensuring timely rooming and assistance as needed.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and provide support with walking, transfers, dressing, and preparing for exams.
  • Gather patient history, take vital signs, and perform screenings as per provider guidelines while relaying instructions to patients and families.
  • Send and receive patient medical records following HIPAA and relevant regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation.
  • Prepare patient rooms and set up instruments/equipment per department protocols; clean rooms and equipment between visits to uphold infection control standards.
  • Manage and restock supplies in exam/procedure rooms, maintaining inventory levels for efficient operations.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other lab tests; assist physicians with procedures and document patient information accurately in medical records.
  • Answer calls, provide patient education, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage charts to ensure information is complete and properly filed. Administer medications and vaccines under physician supervision when appropriate.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
