Medix is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the San Antonio, TX area. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Medical office position responsible for providing direct nursing care in a medical office setting under the direction of a physician, assists medical providers, and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the policies and procedures of the practice
  • Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan
  • Completes all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practice's charting policy
  • Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and medical procedures
  • Arranges for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by the physicians

Skills
  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Medical specialties:
  • MA & CPR Certified

Work setting:
  • In-person

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:
  • 2+ years experience required
  • EMR systems or physician office: 1 year
