Description

As a key member of the Clinical Team at Verily, you will serve as a clinical expert for our commercial team. In addition as needed you will support engineering and product teams, working cross-functionally to guide clinical offerings inclusive of device products and services from conception to commercial readiness. This is a role for a highly collaborative physician who will be responsible for driving clinical strategy and development across the lifecycle of emerging products. The person in this role will drive commercial success and provide feedback for product development.

The Medical Director, Clinical Science should be a subject matter expert in internal medicine, have expertise in clinical product development, and enjoy working in a deep and detailed manner with our multidisciplinary team. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, creative, and technology-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a clinical leader working with Verily's engineering and product teams, clinical scientists, biostatisticians, clinical operations team, and those on the regulatory, quality, strategy, and business teams.
  • Guide clinical vision for the next generation of Verily products and solutions, with a focus on clinical solutions
  • Analyze user and customer requirements for emerging products and R&D efforts. Collaborate with product strategists to identify high value use cases and opportunities.
  • Partner with account executives on the commercial team to sell and support products with external partners and clients. Partner with the clinical leadership team and chief clinical officer in driving clinical excellence across the enterprise
  • Guide product de-risking throughout the execution cycle, with a focus on iteration, early product-market fit, evidence generation, and regulatory approval.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or science.
  • Advanced degree in medicine (MD or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of medical product/clinical development experience, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years working in healthcare, health tech, or life sciences.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to handle ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in clinical science/medicine.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $219,000 -292,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
