University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center is a 144-bed community hospital focused on patient and family-centered care and the principles of evidence-based design.

The individual in this role performs high and moderate complexity testing with high degree of skill and proficiency.

This position is a generalist role working in a community hospital, testing for chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, blood gas and blood bank.

Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes for moderate and high complexity testing

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

• Associates/Bachelor's Degree in biological, chemical science. Must meet course attendance to meet CLIA guidelines.
• MLT/MT program graduate preferred

Work Experience

• Previous Laboratory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of testing procedures and quality standards. Required
• Basic computer skills. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications

• Specific CLIA '88 to perform complexity testing. Required and
• ASCP or equivalent certification Required within in 1 year of hire
