The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical, clerical and administrative functions. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to, triaging patients, collecting medical information, recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse and weight), assisting providers during procedures, performing routine point of care testing (cholesterol and blood glucose testing), obtaining insurance authorizations for procedures and EKG's. Additional responsibilities will include: acting as CLIA Waived testing coordinator and quality manager for OPH testing performed by clinic staff outside of the on-site laboratory and coordinating, monitoring and assisting with all buy and bill drugs currently given in the clinic and billed through medical billing.
• In depth knowledge of good clinical practices as set forth by federal regulations.

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program, military corpsman program, or Certified Nursing Assistant training program

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Two years of clerical/administrative medical office experience.

 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with electronic medical records
