POSITION SUMMARY

Medical Secretary who is responsible for the efficient and accurate flow of communication with patients, Physicians, and other facility personnel and scheduling patient appointments.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizing strong customer service, answer phone calls coming into the practice and follow -up to missed calls.
  • Welcome each patient as they arrive for appointments
  • Schedule patients as needed and communicate with facility employees regarding each patient.
  • Schedule patient appointments and send appointment reminders and follow-ups via calls or emails.
  • Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
  • Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including but not limited to patient authorizations, recent
  • labs/clearances/ insurance information
  • Answer patients' questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary
  • Utilize medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for patients
  • Respond to emails timely
  • Check in/ out patients , collect any applicable copays
  • Verify patient insurances and obtain proper referrals


DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • B ilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Technological skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Maintain professionalism in all areas with extra emphasis on communication
