Join our Scripps Green Hospital working as a Medical Staff Coordinator supporting the Medical Staff team with credentialing Physicians. This role provides administrative and organizational support to the Medical Staff Department and to the medical staff leadership. The coordinator is also responsible for the following:
  • Coordinates, on behalf of the medical staff organization the development if applicable and or revisions of their bylaws rules and regulations policies procedures, and privileging criteria.
  • Supports medical staff leadership in conducting their meetings management and reviews of credentialing files peer review and reviews of OPPE (ongoing professional practice evaluations) and FPPE (focused professional practice evaluations) including proctoring.
  • Assists in the coordination of the continuing medical education (CME) program for the medical staff organization.
  • Maintains responsibility and accountability of assigned medical staff sections departments committees and their relationship with the medical staff organization in fulfilling compliance with federal state and local regulatory and or accrediting agencies such as TJC Title 22 and CMS requirements.
This is a Full Time, Day Shift position located at our Scripps Green Hospital campus in Torrey Pines. Hours may vary.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have at least a minimum of four years of relevant experience preferably in a Medical Staff Services Department or related healthcare experience OR have successfully completed an ABA approved post-graduate paralegal program with hospital internship experience and focus in the area of medical staff law.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state and local regulatory accreditation standards related to the medical staff organization.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Current certifications or actively pursing certification for medical staff service professionals such as CPMSM (Certified Provider of Medical Staff Management) or CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist) by the National Association of Medical Staff Services. If not currently certified must obtain certification within five years of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelors degree highly desirable.
  • Experienced computer user including word processing, spreadsheets, data entry and database systems preferred.
