Under supervision, processes applications, appointments, reappointments, and administrative support services for medical staff and health professionals. Provides administrative support to the CMO and VP, HR and Provider Services.
1. Handles the billing, collection, and deposit of medical staff dues.
2. Performs credentialing and assists with privileging delineation activities in accordance with the medical staff policies, bylaws, and rules and regulations for medical staff/advanced practice professional.
3. Schedules, coordinates and attends all assigned department and committee meetings, conferences and special events in support of medical staff credentialing activities. Plans and develops supporting documentation (e.g., agendas, minutes, credentials reports).
4. Maintains copies of current state licenses, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificates, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers.
5. Initiates information collection, verification, and documentation processes for completed application per established medical staff office policies and procedures.
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of health care setting experience.
OR
• Associate degree in business or related field.
Preferred:
• Associate degree in business or related field.
• Certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).
