Description

Responsible for directing and implementing a physician quality improvement evaluation system with supporting structures. The Medical Staff Quality Improvement and Peer Review Coordinator is responsible for the Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals Peer Review, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) processes and Physician Quality Measures by CMS. Supports the Medical Staff Performance Improvement Committee functions and the flow of information. Responsible for abstracting medical records to collect performance date on required elements. Participates in the analysis of performance data and coordination of reports for presentation. Assists with development and implementation of strategies for improving performance. Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times. The coordinator will also assist with the preparation, coordination and response to accreditation and regulatory agency surveys or visits with a focus on medical staff quality and physician practices. Other duties as assigned by Chief Medical Officer.

Position Requirements

Education:
  • Current RN license preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:
  • Three years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in Quality/performance improvement/peer review experience preferred.
  • Recent experience in core measure abstraction preferred.
  • Experience in statistical concepts, data management, variance tracking and data interpretation.

Certifications/Licenses:
  • If RN, SC License upon hire.
