Responsibilities

The Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is currently accepting applications for a medical urologist to support a large academic medical and surgical practice, including subspecialists in the areas of endourology, female pelvic medicine and reconstruction, men's health and infertility, neuro-urology, reconstructive urology, and urologic oncology. The department also houses a large ACGME accredited residency program and endourology fellowship program with growth planned in additional fellowship subspecialties in the coming year. The candidate hired into the medical urology consultant position would support key practice areas within the department and institution, including neuro-urology, primary urology, pre- and post-kidney transplant, and leadership in the medical management of numerous medical urology indications in support of the larger department and institution. The candidate can expect to work in a highly diverse and complex referral practice with care provided through a network of procedural and disease-based focus groups in collaboration with advanced practice provider staff. Research endeavors are well supported by strong department and institutional resources, and all candidates are expected to be actively engaged in physician training programs across the medical school, residency, and fellowship continuum.

This role does not include operative privileges, rather the candidate is anticipated to be in clinic 3-4 days weekly with a vigorous procedural based practice and protected academic time, where appropriate. There are no on-call responsibilities for this position.
