Job DescriptionSummaryConstructs, installs, and maintains heavy machinery and equipment in an industrial environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as comply with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensure daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advise coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required.
- Install, maintain, dismantle and overhaul machinery, such as heavy mechanical equipment and conveyor systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on port conveyor belts.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions; install and troubleshoot equipment.
- Complete routine tasks such as lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, and preventative maintenance.
- Operate forklift, boom truck (optional), and other port equipment when required.
- Provide building and facility repair such as plumbing, carpentry, troubleshooting, and replace and repair.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and orderly condition.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Millwright experience will be considered.
- Minimum one (1) years directly related experience in the construction industry required.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
- Must have the ability to manage time independently with limited supervision.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must be committed to safety.
- Must have the ability to train apprentices.
- Must be able to perform labor intensive work when required
- Must be able to work day or night shifts as required
- Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.
