The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) at Schriever Space Force Base is searching for a Mission Assurance Engineer (NH-0801-03).
Description:
Would you like to use your education and experience to impact national decision authorities? Then look no further! Space Delta 9's 1st Space Operations Squadron is seeking a professional general engineer to develop and sustain weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment for the Mission Assurance Director. Your work will ensure Space Delta 9 can continue to prepare, present, and project assigned and attached forces for the purpose of conducting protect and defend operations to deter and, when necessary, defeat orbital threats.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering from a school with at least one program accredited by ABET.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of multidisciplinary professional engineering to effectively apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, coordinate, or advise on work efforts, or to resolve operating problems by influencing or motivating individuals or groups who are working toward mutual goals. The work involves engineering, planning, developing, and carrying out vital administrative processes.
5. Ability to independently research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
6. Familiarity of military (including command level) program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluations.
7. Knowledge of the application of military space operations expertise as they apply to programs and weapons systems.
8. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- This position is on-site and eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
- Employee needs to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis, and non-standard work hours per mission requirements.
- Knowledge of computer programming including Python and Java.
- PCS funding is not available.
