SUMMARY: Supervise, coordinate, and prioritize the repairs of electric motors and generators.

POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure employees regularly participate in and comply with company safety programs and policies.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and inventory control programs.
  • Work with scheduler to load all jobs into scheduling software.
  • Lead production meetings, safety meetings, employee meetings, and other related meetings.
  • Drive shop workflow optimization, level loading, and understand of flow and emergent work priorities.
  • Carry out all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Review staff requirements and participate in recruiting activities, training, and scheduling of personnel.
  • Ensure all administrative requirements are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide staff performance reviews and resolve employee problems.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is emphasized at all levels.
  • Maintain frequent contact with assistant managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Participate in short-term and long-term market strategy development and implementation.
  • Mentor and assist employees.
  • Build a team environment.
  • Coordinate the emergency on-call list.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Schedule (subject to change)
  • Hours - typical work hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday with a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Periodic evening, weekend and holiday work will be required, subject to project scope and customer hours.
  • Overtime - regular overtime should be expected, with occasional long weeks to meet production demands.
  • Travel - occasional overnight trips away from home to attend industry conferences or visit customers.

Working Conditions
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment is required.
  • The work is performed generally in a repair facility environment; Work may be performed at a desk or cubicle in the office or on the shop floor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Training
  • Five or more years performing mechanical repair and/or conventional machining of large parts, preferably working in a motor shop or 4-year degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Experience
  • Three or more years coaching and supervising others. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
