JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction & supervision of the Director and/or Manager of MPF - Patient Financial Services, the MPF Revenue Cycle Applications Specialist is responsible for various tasks that support the Professional Billing application of the organizations IS EMR system. These duties may include producing necessary Revenue Cycle reports, compiling of Master File updates to the system (fee schedules, procedure codes) & forwarding to the IS Department for loading. Responsible for data retrieval & validation of data integrity & accuracy. Duties may also include processing of both electronic & paper claims from the IS system which includes compiling all claim edits & assuring delivery to appropriate billing team. Performs spot check verifications with payors to assure claim batches were received. Responsible for electronic submission of patient statements & bad debt collection accounts to outside vendors, monitoring receipt confirmations to assure accurate file was transmitted. Will perform daily, monthly, quarterly & yearly reporting tasks, ad-hoc reporting requests. Assist as a back-up for other functions within the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
2 Years of Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree
3 Years of Experience
The expected hiring range for this position is $26.74 to $36.78
