Position Summary

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a combination of technical skills, patient care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and accurate imaging services.




Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Analyze patient histories and conduct screenings for pacemakers and any injuries related to metal objects.
  • Contrast Administration: Prepare and administer contrast dyes as necessary for MRI scans.
  • Patient Care: Address patients’ concerns, ensuring they feel comfortable and calm throughout the scanning process.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections of MRI equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Patient Positioning: Position patients accurately and complete MRI scans according to physicians' specifications and protocols.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in MRI rooms, ensuring a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Training and Support: Train junior MRI Technologists and provide support to new staff members in operational procedures.
  • Reporting: Write detailed reports of imaging procedures and escalate any issues to relevant stakeholders promptly.
  • Quality Assurance: Carry out quality assurance procedures, implementing improvements as required to enhance service delivery.




Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Certification: Current certification as an MRI Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in MRI technology preferred.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of MRI technology, equipment, and protocols.
  • Patient Interaction: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
