Multicultural Student Life within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Coordinator for Multicultural Student Life. The Division of Student Life seeks a student-centered leader who can work closely with multiple student organizations to coordinate programs and services that impact student engagement and success. The coordinator is responsible for coaching student organizations and assisting the department in the planning, production, and assessment of programs and initiatives. This position also provides direct supervision to a graduate assistant.

The Position: The coordinator is an integral part of the Multicultural Student Life team. A successful candidate must be able to work independently or within a group dynamic to accomplish departmental and divisional goals and objectives. This position will work with both campus and community partners to support, educate, and connect students to programs and resources. To align with the culture of assessment within the Division of Student Life, the coordinator will assess learning outcomes of events, programs, and services by utilizing technology such as Campus Labs to compile program/event statistics each semester for the annual report.

Responsibilities:

• Providing guidance and direct support to student organization

• Planning, production, marketing, and assessment of programs and activitie

• Organize annual conferences and cultural celebrations.

• Host weekly and in some cases bi-weekly meetings with student organizations and student organization leaders.

• Develop initiatives focused on supporting and expanding programs and services for all student populations.

• Collaborate with faculty, professional staff, and students to develop and deliver cultural programs and services to various majors, classes, organizations, and departments.

• Negotiate contractual terms with agents.

Qualifications:

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university

Required Experience

• Experience: 1 year of professional experience in higher education

• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experience

• 2 years of graduate assistant work counts as 1 year of professional experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of identity development and the impact of intersections of identities as it relates to college student

• Ability to develop innovative programming for varying student population

• Knowledge of issues related to a diverse campus community

• Ability to develop programming that will support university recruitment and retention goal

• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently

• Strong verbal and written communication skill

• Strong interpersonal skill

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Preferred Education

• Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or a related field

Preferred Experience

• Direct experience working with underserved student populations

• Experience advising student organizations

• Experience developing & delivering programs in a college setting

• Experience teaching courses; Experience leading and facilitating workshops and training

Salary: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position.
