Overview

The PT Museum Guest Services reports directly to the General Manager. This position performs administrative support functions including acting as a front-line customer service representative while greeting visitors and answering the Museum's main phone lines. Employee is responsible for; and performs specialized office/clerical work of a difficult complex nature and does related work as required for all departments as assigned. Represents the venue as the initial contact for prospective clients and the general public and provides overall administrative support.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $13.00.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor capacity of museum attendance.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of Museum during office hours. And, ensuring that ballroom doors to the Terre Haute Convention Center are locked.
  • Scheduling of school tours and respective parking for traffic and buses.
  • Answers the Museum main phone line and directs calls to the appropriate individual or department.
  • Analyzes complaint calls and directs to the appropriate department head.
  • Provides basic clerical support services including filing, maintenance of attendance reports and record keeping.
  • Maintains office equipment including computer, printer and copy machine.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma.
  • Two years working with the public in an office environment.
  • Combined education/experience maybe evaluated to meet minimum requirements.
  • The incumbent must have the demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task, organize and prioritize tasks; be reliable and punctual, and willingly assist the Terre Haute Convention Center staff where needed. The ability to proactively focus on and prioritize the duties that are most critical and time-sensitive is a critical requirement of this position.
