Job Description:
The Music Events Coordinator & Administrative Assistant will provide support services for the Music Department Chairman, Music Faculty, Department Performance Series, Guest Artists, Touring, and College needs as directed. Coordinate and oversee and process faculty and ensemble performance tour itineraries and travel. Coordinate and oversee contracts for guest artists, festivals, and touring. Coordinate, organize, manage, and supervise office operations, auditions, Davis Performance Hall scheduling and staff, music office student employees, and music contract needs. Manage the budget, maintain and update department budget records, special purpose card use and reconciliation, and, process appropriate forms and actions for varied activities in a timely manner. Coordinate and participate in music department events and meetings and collaborate with others as requested by the chair and university leadership. Coordinate, oversee, and maintain department events calendars, room schedules, key inventory, student files, equipment purchase, and supply needs. Manage, train, and supervise student workers. Work with the chair to coordinate, organize, and maintain department event and public performance calendars. Coordinate and oversee performance and rehearsal space schedules, piano inventory and maintenance, key inventory, facilities needs, and requests. Other duties as assigned by the chair and dean.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to coordinate and oversee the many programmatic needs in the Department of Music. Prior experience in arts programming and providing coordination and administrative support for such. Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal & organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment. Considerable working knowledge of various computer applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Demonstrated ability to manage others in completing multiple tasks. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage high volume of work in a timely manner. Respond to department, college, university leaders, and others in appropriate and timely ways. Demonstrate flexibility and ability to coordinate, oversee, prioritize, and adjust to the unique operations and activities of the Department of Music.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Banner/eVA. Previous experience managing an office. Working knowledge of university/state policies and procedures. Experience with performing arts organizations and programs.
