Provide developmentally appropriate music instruction using a variety of methods for all students K-5 based on APS standards for elementary music and district and state standards across the curriculum. Teachers will teach at 1 Summer Learning Adventure site in a pull-out setting for 2024 summer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serving outgoing students in grades Kinder - 5th grade general education and ESL/ELL students. The Summer Learning Adventure is NOT based on a remediation model, but a high interest, hands-on science-based summer camp opportunity providing staff more time to teach as well as extending the school year for those students who need more time to be successful. The program uses PBL and SLA curriculum. Teachers will use teacher created materials.

Delegation Training

There will be teacher training for the music curriculum prior to the start of the program. Orientation/prep & plan day is June 11, 2024. Teachers who apply for these summer job opportunities must be willing to collaborate with summer peers, design high interest, hands-on, project-based lessons for students, as well as provide differentiated reading and math activities that support the needs of individual students. Teachers must be willing to be outside during the school day and help organize extended enrichment activities based on the PBL and SLA curriculum.

REQUIREMENTS:

The minimum requirements for this job are as follows:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Valid New Mexico Teaching certificate (500 or 200) with an endorsement in music (90) or visual arts (01) or be eligible for endorsement

All teachers must have the correct license/endorsement/credential on file with APS HR prior to working this program.

SALARY: Negotiated salary for all summer positions, as long as the incumbent stays within their current job classification, is based on hours worked at the employee's current hourly rate.
