Funding for this position is between a minimum of $32.62 and maximum of $35.25 an hour.

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within 2 weeks of closing date.

Why does the job exist?

This position provides high level of customer service and ensures compliance with all applicable Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) statutes, regulations, policies and procedures. This position directly supervises the Vehicles staff.

How does it get done?

This position will also be responsible for:

* Ensuring efficient and high-quality transactions while overseeing staff assignments.
* Ensuring that the employees are effectively and efficiently processing vehicle transactions that are in alignment with statute and Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) policies and procedures.
* Conducting daily audits on processed transactions to ensure that employees are delivering a quality product to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.
* Tracking team member performance to identify and implement effective ways to improve transaction processing.
* Developing and training of all vehicle employees.
* Conducting monthly meetings to ensure that their employees are knowledgeable with any new changes made to policy.
* Effective leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with all management, fellow co-workers and employees.
* Working closely with other jurisdictions such as neighboring states, Law Enforcement and Field Offices to maintain the integrity of title and vehicle history.
* Ensuring 100% accuracy in entering required information into the vehicle/driver system, open, reconcile and close cash drawers.
* Maintaining Vehicle Identification credentials.
* Ensuring proper staffing levels are met by managing time off requests per operational needs.
* Problem solving, great oral/written communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally address customer and employee concerns.
* Delivering quality customer service that is aligned with MVD's Mission and Vision to both internal and external customers, must demonstrate teamwork with coworkers and direct reports in
providing assistance and resources for both in-person and over the phone customers.
* Monitoring, supporting and supervising MVD agents for efficient, positive outcomes.
* Recruitment process, development through training and the evaluation process, recognition programs, agent scheduling, time sheet management and progressive discipline.
* Utilizing all resources to gain knowledge in all aspects of the position and acquire new skills through training and development.
* Achieving the overall goals of the agency.
* Collaborating and cooperating with other bureaus while working on group projects and customer resolution.

Vehicle owners of New Mexico, surrounding states and all drivers who have access to New Mexico highways along with employees of Taxation and Revenue.

Ideal Candidate

Will have experience in:

* Customer service, interacting with the public and answering phones
* Supervisory experience
* Working in a high pressure, fast-paced work environment
* Working in a Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Office
* General office experience, administrative and clerical experience

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management and/or financial management, one (1) year of which must be supervisory. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting. Some standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
